
It's rice and beans night, people. It's 5:21 p.m. and I'm the only one who knows this disappointing information.
Once a week our family eats rice & beans for dinner to remember the poor. Though there's the remote possibility that such a practice might make us grateful, more often it just makes people I live with crabby.
As the dinner hour approaches, I can't hide it much longer. Once it's out, one of my children will be thrilled and the three other home members will despise me. I'm bracing myself...
