Success...And Failure

After purposing to do Advent differently, there have been some successes & some failures. I'll share 2 today...

1. Success....involves my son, Abhi, who made a card & care package for a homeless man in our community, Ed.

2. Failure...involves me. (Really, are we surprised?) I was innocently out for some exercise this morning, when I suddenly HAD TO PURCHASE 3 Wonka Bars for my kids on Christmas morning. I'd seen them during the year & resisted the urge, but somehow felt justified to buy a special Christmas treat. Bad news, people. Parker & Otis had NO WONKA BARS!!!!

Seriously, it was a scene straight out of the movie. Me with my little pocket of coins, hoping desperately to win a golden ticket, standing dumbstruck that the shelf was bare.

Were this whole Advent situation an affair of the pocketbook, I'd be alright. Sadly, it turns out to be an affair of the heart.
